BEYOND THE RAVE CASTING CALL
Production News 27.08.
07

Details of the first Hammer Horror film in over 20 years have emerged this week, thanks to a posting on ConstantCasting website. The text (retrieved 27 August 2007) is reposted below for the sake of record. The information gives away details about several key characters and the content of the film

NAME OF PRODUCTION: Beyond The Rave

Hannah Birkett is casting for BEYOND THE RAVE, the first Hammer Horror production in some 20 years and is feature length but will be released episodically via the internet.

Casting: Thursday 16th & Friday 17th August 2007.

Rehearsal/Shoot:  Please refer to each individual character.

Rate: £100 per rehearsal/shoot day including agency fee.

If you have any household names for the roles of Tooley and Leopold please do suggest them & we can negotiate a suitable fee.

We are looking for the following:

NECRO
Really important part.  Best friend of Ed (lead character), Necro is a bit of a loser but who is kind at heart.  Necro is a bit of a joker but essentially a normal, everyday lad, keen to find someone to love (and he falls for someone in the film).
We’d love to see dark haired, skinny; slightly haunting guys aged around 20 (could be a young Tim Burton type).
Must be available for the whole of September for rehearsals & shoot.

TOOLEY
The don of all drug users.  He’s an old drug dealer who seems to have lost his mind - but is the only man in town who realises that vampires are around.  He lives in a dirty squat.  Good cameo role.  Has his own featured episode.  Perfect for a great character actor.
We need to feel with him that he has indulged in years of regular drug use. Think Keith Richards from the rolling stones or someone like this:

LEOPOLD
A drugged out vampire, who kills two ravers after offering them a hit on his chillum.  Has his own featured episode.
This is a great role for an old established character actor in the vibe of Anthony Hopkins (eyes intense and filled with the wisdom of a thousand years) or maybe quirky like Dominique Pinon - see http://www.vaulxfilmcourt.com/photos/PINONDominique.jpg  Could be aged between 40-70.
Must be available on September 27th.

BELIAL
A hyperactive, loquacious vampire.  Inseparable with Strigoi, who will be played by Rick Warden (Band of Brothers) so it might be nice if they have some physical similarities.  He’s quite flamboyant, exuberant, and maybe even sexy.  Aged around 30.
Must be available on Sept 7th & 11th

BIG JIM
Large bouncer at a nightclub.  In love with a woman in the film.  One of the gang of friends.  Age 18-30. Should be big but likable. A loveable bear.
Must be available on September  5th,7th,10th,12th,13th,14th,17th,18th,19th,21st,22nd & 26th

ED'S DAD
The father of the lead character, this is a great character role for an intimidating, gravelly voiced actor. He’s in his fifties, big, hard & a local warrior legend. Stern. Authoritative. Right wing. Bloodshot eyes (because he is always drunk).  Has his own featured episode.
Must be available on September 10th.

JEN'S MUM
Mother of a 20 year old girl.  Suburban, worried & normal, aged 40-50 years old.
Must be available on September 10th

Pipsqueak Chav:
Aged 10 to a young looking 14.  A miniature Chav.  Must be available on September 15th.
