Robert Simpson, editor of
Unofficialhammerfilms.com, has launched a new website dedicated to Hammer's
sister company Exclusive Films.
The site's holding page went live
at the start of September and will slowly build into a comprehensive resource
for scholars of Exclusive and British film distribution. The project has been
spawned by Robert's own current doctoral research project into the company and
will eventually include details of Exclusive's releases alongside
contemporaneous clippings, posters, articles and stills.
Exclusive was formed in 1935
and for the next thirty years operated primarily as a distribution company,
releasing second run features as well as most of the early Hammer films.
Exclusive would also be responsible for the production of a number of titles in
the Hammer catalogue.
It is hoped the resulting
database will be used by fans and scholars alike.
